World featherweight boxing champion, Chris John, won the award of all time (lifetime achievement) from the World Boxing Association (WBA) for accomplishment he achieved during the period of nine years.
In his meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports (Menegpora) Andi Mallarangeng, Chris John said that he felt proud of the accomplishment.
"The award is a great pride for me. Of course it becomes the success of the team and the people of Indonesia, not just my success," said Chris John, who was accompanied by his wife, Anna Maria Megawati, Kemenpora office, Jakarta, Monday.
Meanwhile, Andi Mallarangeng Affairs Chris John hopes of success in the world that can provide a good influence for amateur boxers in Indonesia.
"Hopefully it can affect the award for amateur boxers Indonesia. Hope I will be born Chris John` new `," said Andi Mallarangeng.
On Wednesday (29/2), WBA grant award "Lifetime Achievement Award" to Chris John and the "Asian Promoter of the Year" to the King of Sapta Oktohari.
Conferment ceremony which took place in Panama is also given to a boxer of the world, one of them is Amir Kahn.
Chris John successfully defended his title 15 times champion in nine years. Boxer with the nickname "The Dragon" has been played 46 times, including 22 wins "knock out" (KO) and two draws. Java boxer's fist undefeated during his career since 2003.
